Has anyone tried those clone nav cards from eBay or Amazon for the 2023/2024 Mazda CX-5? Do they actually work, and can they be updated to the latest maps? If so, is there any way to get a virgin card or image to start with?

Haven't tried one myself, but I've heard different things like on one angle, they say they work fine out of the box, and another is about issues with updates or the system rejecting the card after a while. I've stuck with the OEM cards just to avoid the hassle, but definitely curious if anyone has found a reliable clone that does well

I know a couple of people who have tried the clone nav cards from eBay and Amazon for the 2023/2024 CX-5 and they generally do work for the basic navigation function. The main catch though is that these cards are often not the real deal and may not be able to be updated using the official Mazda Update Toolbox software. They're often loaded with older maps and once your car's VIN locks to the card, i think after about 60 miles, you typically can't update them using the official Mazda software. The updates some sellers offer are unofficial. Most users get them for features like HUD speed limit display and continue to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation, as there's no way to get a new, virgin card image for updates.
