Apple CarPlay in Mazda CX-5 GT

my girlfriend has a 2021 Mazda CX-5 GT, and we're trying to get Apple CarPlay working in it.

I've checked and found that the current firmware is version 59.00.504 NA N. It looks like we need to update it to version 74.00.324 to get CarPlay.
I've found some threads and articles online, but I'm looking for a solid guide and the right files to download.

We're a little hesitant to just jump into it without some confirmation. Does anyone here know how to do this or have a guide on whether we can update directly from the 59.00 version to the 74.00 version?

I think you're on the right track! Since your girlfriend's CX-5 is running firmware version 59.00.504 NA N, you'll need to first update to 70.00.100A before jumping to 74.00.324A, which is the version that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

I ran into the same thing on my Mazda. You can usually update straight to 74.00.324, but grab the official files. If you're unsure, the dealership can update it safely without bricking anything
